Welcome to UpNet Wisconsin, LLC, your local high-speed internet provider based in the heart of Stoughton, Wisconsin. Founded in 2016 by a passionate local couple, our journey began with a simple mission: to bridge the digital divide in our rural communities.
Driven by our commitment to our neighbors, we embarked on our venture placing equipment on our inaugural tower in Mount Horeb. Since then, we’ve expanded our reach with over 50 towers spanning across South Central Wisconsin, covering an impressive 1,640 square miles.
Our dedication to connectivity doesn’t stop there. With over 325,000 feet of fiber network serving four vibrant communities, we’re committed to delivering reliable internet access to both residential and commercial customers alike.

Technologies
UpNetWI’s team has 50+ years of experience working with fixed wireless internet, a technology that uses radio signals instead of cables. This is a great alternative for rural locations without access to cable- or fiber-based services and is much faster than slow DSL, satellite, or cellular options.
Since 2020, UpNetWI has offered Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) service in select areas. Fiber internet uses fiber-optic cables instead of copper wires, and delivers incredible speeds with ultra-low latency. UpNet utilizes the latest in gigabit passive optical networking (GPON) technology to deliver 100+ Mbps speeds in areas that large cable and fiber provides are unwilling to go.
Awards
In 2019, we received our first grant award in partnership with the Town of Sun Prairie. This project helped us bring high-speed internet access to approximately 74 residences and 7 businesses.
In 2021, we received two State grant awards: One in partnership with the Town of Bristol. This project will help us bring fiber access to 210 residences and 11 business. The other partnership is with the Town of Cottage Grove. This project will help us bring fiber to 81 residences and 5 businesses.
In 2021, we received a Federal grant award in partnership with the Town of Pleasant Springs. This project helped us bring fiber access to 154 residences and 5 businesses.

We are a wireless and fiber internet service provider (WISP/FISP) belonging to the Wireless Internet Service Provider Association (WISPA).
